I knew Dolphinton old station building quite well for a couple of years in the 1980s as a couple of friends were renting it. It was originally bought and converted into a house by a retired police Inspector and given "999 The Nick" as a house name. I'd often trek along the disused track bed to the West for a mile or two or walk up the bings to the North for a better view of the place. - Dave Henderson
