Abercrombie Tartan

Related to the lands of the same name at the mouth of the River Crombie (Fife), indeed the name means 'place at the mouth of the winding stream. The family is linked to Fife and Clackmannanshire. Francis Abercromby was a Lord of Session during the reign of King James II (1430-60). Sir Ralph Abercromby (1734 - 1801) and his brother Sir Robert Abercromby (1740 - 1827) were noted soldiers.
