Sandilands

Spero Meliora (I hope for better things)

The name originates from lands on Clydeside and the original family members may have fled there from Northumbria during the reign of Malcolm III.

The Sandilands are the family of the Lords Torphichen, associated with the lands of Calder in West Lothian, which they were given in the 14th C. by the Douglas family.
