Ward of Bressay

A hill of S Central Bressay, an island to the east of the Shetland mainland, the Ward of Bressay rises to 227m (744 feet) and represents the highest point on the island. It gives panoramic views over the Bressay Sound to Lerwick and at its summit is marked by an Ordnance Survey primary triangulation pillar installed 1948-49, together with a cluster of television transmitter masts.
