Roslin Glen

A gorge on the River North Esk and country park, Roslin Glen lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) south of Roslin (Midlothian). The wooded glen provides a pleasant riverside walk past Rosslyn Castle, Wallace's Cave and Hawthornden Castle. There was once a gunpowder mill in the glen, which closed in 1954 after 150 years of operation, latterly run by ICI Nobel.
