Coomb Island
(Eilean na Coomb, Neave Island or Eilean na Naoimh)

A small uninhabited island on the north coast of Sutherland, Coomb Island (Gael: Eilean na Coomb) or Neave Island (Gael: Eilean na Naoimh) lies between Torrisdale Bay and Tongue Bay, opposite the settlement of Clasheddy and 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Bettyhill. The island is a half-mile (0.8 km) in length and rises steeply to 70m (230 feet). It is separated from the mainland by the narrow channel Caol Beag.
