Eilean Mor

One of several small uninhabited islands at the mouth of Loch Sween (Argyll and Bute), Eilean Mor is located 2½ miles (4 km) west of Kilmory. This island rises to 22m (71 feet). The ruined 12th Century chapel of St. Cormack (Cille Mhic-Charmaig) lies at its centre, which features a vaulted chancel containing the effigy of an ecclesiastical figure and the shaft of an early mediaeval cross is nearby. The chapel is maintained by Historic Environment Scotland.
