Ward Hill

The highest point on Fair Isle, Ward Hill rises to 217m (712 feet) in the northwest of the island. Its summit is marked by an Ordnance Survey primary triangulation pillar (installed 1948-49), where there are also the remains of a wartime radar station. To the east is a modern radio communications mast. On the coast to the west is the rock stack known as the Tower of Ward Hill.
