Lochs

A district and parish of the island of Lewis in the Western Isles, Lochs lies on the east coast of the island centred around Loch Erisort. The area is characterised by the number of freshwater and sea-lochs. North Lochs (Gael: Lochan a Tuath) extends north from here to Stornoway, while South Lochs (Gael: Lochan a Deas) extends south to a line between the head of Loch Seaforth and Loch Ouirn, where it meets the district of Park (part of the parish of Lochs).
