Fintry

A northern district of Dundee, Fintry lies between the Forfar Road (A 90) and Whitfield, 2½ miles (4 km) north northeast of the city centre. Comprising a sizeable post-war public housing scheme, the residences are low-rise semi-detached properties and modest blocks of flats. The street names all began with "Fin", for example Finlaggan Terrace, Finella Gardens, Findowrie Street, Finavon Street and Findhorn Place, although the rule has subsequently been broken. The area has suffered from social problems. Between 1997 and 2006, new housing for rent was developed in the north of the area by the Abertay Housing Association.
