The largest of a series of small reservoirs which supply the Loch Dubh power station in Strath Kanaird, Loch Dubh lies 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Ullapool. It is dammed at its northern end and has been flooded to incorporate Loch Dubh Beag and Loch Ob an Lochain.
