Deucheran Hill Wind Farm

Located around Deucheran Hill in the centre of the Kintyre Peninsula, the Deucheran Hill Wind Farm at a height of 329m (1079 feet), 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Carradale (Argyll and Bute). Commencing operation in 2001, the farm is capable of generating a total of 15.75 megawatts (MW) of electricity from nine 1.75 MW Danish turbines. Two of the turbines stand 60m (197 feet) high, while the remaining seven are 46m (151 feet) in height and all have 33-m (108-foot) long blades. It is jointly owned by the utility supplier E.ON UK / Powergen (formerly the Central Electricity Generating Board) and Forestry and Land Scotland, which owns the ground.
