A small reservoir surrounded by plantation woodland on the course of the Noran Water in Angus, Glenogil is located 7½ miles (12 km) north northeast of Kirriemuir and 8 miles (13 km) north of Forfar. Retained by a concrete and earth dam, it is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water and covers an area of 8.1 ha (20 acres).
