Loch an Eilein

A small loch in the centre of the island of Tiree in Argyll & Bute, Loch an Eilein lies a half-mile (0.8 km) west of Crossapoll and 1¼ miles (2 km) north of Balemartine. It casts off Crossapoll Burn and contains a pair of islets. A larger island, which was once the site of a castle, is now connected to the southern shore. This is the location of Island House, once home to the Duke of Argyll's estate factor.
