A shallow bay at the entrance to the River Nith in Dumfries and Galloway, Carse Bay lies to the northwest of Carsethorn and a mile (1.5 km) northeast of Kirkbean. The Carse Sands represent a large area of sandbanks which extend to the east and southeast.
