Crombie Country Park

A 102 ha (252 acre) country park with a loch and 4 miles (7 km) of woodland trails, Crombie Country Park lies to the west of Arbroath in SE Angus. Opened in 1983, the park includes a children's adventure play area. The loch, which was created as a reservoir in a former quarry between 1866 and 1868, provided additional water for Dundee, the works at nearby Monikie proving inadequate by then. Crombie was last used to supply water to Carnoustie in 1981.
