Witches Stane

(Witches Stone, Devils Stone)

Thought to represent a glacial erratic, having arrived here through natural processes, the stone known locally as 'The Witches Stane' or 'The Devils Stone' stands about 1.2m (4 feet) high on the northern slopes of Cockleroy Hill, less than a quarter mile (0.5 km) east northeast of Williamcraigs Farm and slightly further southwest of Preston House, 1¼ miles (2 km) southwest of the centre of Linlithgow in West Lothian.
