Agnew Monument

A three-stage tower topped by a corbelled-out parapet within the ancient hill-fort on the summit of the Tor of Craigoch in the North Rhins of Galloway, the Agnew Monument is located a half-mile 91 km) northwest of Leswalt and 1½ miles (2,5 km) northeast of Lochnaw Castle. It was built in 1850 in memory of Sir Andrew Agnew, 7th Baronet of Lochnaw (1793 - 1849), who had served as Member of Parliament for Wigtownshire.
