Arta

Located between Walls Street and Albion Street in the Merchant City of Glasgow, Arta is a grand Mediterranean fantasy comprising a bar, restaurant and night-club which is certainly worthy of a visit to experience this flight of romantic imagination. It occupies the larger part of the former Corporation Cheese Market originally built by the Office of Public Works in 1902. From behind a heavy velvet curtain, which covers the entrance, the darkness of the interior cannot hide the ostentatious Baroque decor featuring pillars, arches, stone floors and wooden beams, together with oversized furniture and wrought-iron candelabras. The night-club lies below, with the neat restaurant above.
