Castlelaw Hill

A summit on the eastern margin of the Pentland Hill in Midlothian, Castlelaw Hill rises to 488m (1601 feet), a mile (1.5 km) northwest of Easter Howgate and 2½ miles (4 km) north of Penicuik. The Castlelaw Training Area comprise military firing ranges covering much of the hill and the Castlelaw Fort, on its southeast slopes, is an important archaeological site.
