Black Hill

A prominent summit of the Pentland Hills located in Midlothian, but close to the border with the City of Edinburgh, Black Hill rises to 501m (1643 feet) between Threipmuir Reservoir and Loganlea Reservoir, 2½ miles (4 km) southeast of Balerno and 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Penicuik. Although its summit lies in Midlothian, its northwestern slopes fall into Edinburgh.
