Applecross Peninsula

A remote tract of land in Wester Ross, Highland Council Area, the Applecross Peninsula is bounded by Loch Torridon in the north and Lock Kishorn in the south. The axe-shaped peninsula overlooks the Inner Sound and the islands of Raasay and Rona with Skye beyond. The peninsula measures approximately 15 miles (25 km) from north-to-south along its west coast, narrowing to around 6 miles (10 km) at its neck. It is approximately 9 miles (15 km) in width. The village of Applecross is its principal settlement, located on Applecross Bay in the middle of the peninsula's west-facing coast.
