A small railway station in Clydebank which serves as a reminder of the enormous Singer Sewing Machine presence in the town, now mostly demolished. Singer Station lies on the Argyle Line and North Clyde Line in the Kilbowie district, a half-mile (1 km) north of Clydebank town centre. The station opened on the former Glasgow, Dumbarton & Helensburgh Railway in 1907, to the north of the Singer factory, and once boasted six platforms to handle the many trains conveying people to and from their work. It is preceded by Drumry Railway Station, a mile (1.5 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Dalmuir, a similar distance to the west northwest. Now operated by ScotRail, Singer Railway Station is staffed part-time and is still used by around 650,000 passengers per annum (2015).
