Bay of Pierowall

A substantial inlet on the northeast coast of the island of Westray in Orkney, the Bay of Pierowall opens into the North Sound opposite Papa Westray and between Ouse Ness and the Ness of Brough. The island's principal settlement, Pierowall, lies at its head. The bay is a half-mile (1 km) wide at its mouth.
