Aberdeen Airport
(Dyce Airport)

Located at Dyce, 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Aberdeen, Aberdeen Airport is one of seven in the UK operated by the denationalised British Airports Authority, BAA plc. Opened originally in 1934, it now has five terminals and incorporates the world's largest commercial heliport, servicing the North Sea oil industry, with 390,000 passengers per year. In total, the airport handles 2.7 million passengers and is served by at least 18 airlines. It has a single runway of 1829m (6000 feet), with three helicopter landing pads.

Aberdeen Airport is a major employer with 2900 staff and has the International Air Transport Association (IATA) location code "ABZ".
