Scatsta AirportLocated some 24 miles (39 km) NNW of Lerwick and 5 miles (8 km) southwest of the oil terminal at Sullom Voe. Scatsta Airport has the International Air Transport Association (IATA) location code "SCS". This airport was developed from 1939 as a Royal Air Force base supporting flying-boat operations. Abandoned after World War II, it was reinstated in 1978 for civilian use in support of the oil industry.
