Carlin Tooth

An unusually-named rocky hill located on the edge of the Wauchope Forest in the S Scottish Borders, Carlin Tooth rises to 551m (1807 feet) a mile (1.5 km) from the English border. The Raven Burn, which rises on the western slopes of this hill, eventually becomes the Jed Water, while Black Needle, which rises on its northeastern slopes, becomes the English River Tyne.
