Papa Little

Situated at the head of Aith Voe in the Mainland of Shetland, the 226 ha (558 acre) peat-covered island of Papa Little is protected from the Atlantic wind by the islands of Vementry and Muckle Roe. It has two small lochans, Mill Loch and Little Loch, as well as several hills, the largest of which is North Ward (82m / 269 feet). Papa Little was last inhabited in the 1840s when it had a population of 11.
