Greskine Forest

A sizeable area of plantation woodland in NE Dumfries and Galloway, the Greskine Forest lies to the west of the Evan Water and the M74 motorway, 3 miles (5 km) west of Moffat. It extends west to the boundary with South Lanarkshire and merges into the Earshaigs Forest to the south. The Southern Upland Way passes through the forest and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, a government-funded research agency, has maintained a research site at Rivox, since the 1970s.
