One of a pair of modest hills in NW Skye, Ben Aketil rises to 268m (879 feet) ¾ mile (1.2 km) southwest of Ben Sca and 4½ miles (7.5 km) east of Dunvegan. There is a triangulation pillar at a height of 266m (872 feet) lying 160m (524 feet) southwest of the summit. The Ben Aketil Wind Farm is located on a spur which extends to the north northwest.
