Molendinar Burn

The most famous of the burns that run through Glasgow, the Molendinar Burn is where St. Kentigern established his Christian community in the 6th Century, the precursor to the Cathedral that dominates the city's High Street. Rising from Hogganfield Loch, 3 miles (5 km) to the northeast, it flows west and then south to the River Clyde. During the 1870s it was covered over and at the point where it passed between the Cathedral and the Necropolis it became Wishart Street.
