Provand's Lordship, Glasgow

Located at the top of Castle Street and opposite the Cathedral and Royal Infirmary sits Provand's Lordship, regarded as Glasgow's oldest building and believed to date from 1471. Although elements from the building itself may be from this time, it has the appearance of a building which has undergone restoration and renovation. It was built as the manse for the Cathedral's clergy and was one of the more prominent buildings of the city, located at the junction of the old town's principal streets, High Street and Rottenrow.
