A rocky islet in the Sound of Mull, Glas Eileanan is located 1¼ miles (2 km) west of Rubha an Ridire, the southernmost tip of the Morvern peninsula, and 2 miles (3 km) north of Craignure on Mull. There is automatic light beacon on the island, mounted on a white aluminium-clad metal framework tower.
