Broughty Castle

Situated on the north bank of the River Tay, by the harbour in Broughty Ferry, Broughty Castle was built in 1498 by Andrew, 3rd Lord Gray. It was reconstructed by the noted architect Sir Robert Rowand Anderson in 1861 and now houses a museum featuring displays on the whaling past of Dundee, its military history and life on the North Sea coastline.
