Orinsay Island


(Eilean Orasaigh, Orasaidh)

The largest of a group of small uninhabited islands and islets at the southern side of the entrance to Loch Erisort on the east coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Orinsay Island (Gael: Eilean Orasaigh or Orasaidh) 1½ miles (2.5 km) north of Marvig. The island rises steeply to 53m (173 feet) above sea level.
