Opsay

(Opasaigh)

A small uninhabited island of the Outer Hebrides, Opsay (Gael: Opasaigh) is located in the Sound of Harris, a half-mile (1 km) north northwest of Hermetray and 1½ miles (2.5 km) northeast of North Uist. Opsay rises to 12m (39 feet) above sea level and at low tide is connected to a 'tail' of islets and rocks to the northwest, which curve around a sheltered anchorage called The Basin.
