Knockruan Loch

A small reservoir on the Kintyre peninsula of Argyll and Bute, Knockruan Loch is located 1¼ miles (2 km) northeast of Campbeltown. Retained by an earth embankment dam, it lies above a slightly larger reservoir, Aucha Lochy. Covering an area of 4.8 ha (11 acres), this is one of three water bodies operated by Scottish Water which supply of drinking-water to Campbeltown.
