Loch Eilt

A loch which delimits the northerly limit of Moidart in the SW of Highland Council Area, Loch Eilt lies next to the A830 Trunk Road, midway between the northeastern tip of Loch Shiel and Loch Ailort, draining into the latter. The loch extends to 200 ha (494 acres) and is 3 miles (5 km) in length. The West Highland Line runs along its southern shore, but was closed for several days in 2018 due to a landslip which derailed a train.
