Heldale Water

A relatively deep loch which forms a reservoir towards the south of the island of Hoy in Orkney, Heldale Water lies 4 miles (6.5 km) west southwest of Lyness. The loch sends off the Burn of Greenheads to the west and an arm of the Burn of Heldale to the east. It is stocked for recreational brown-trout fishing and there is a pumping station located at its eastern end.
