Inner Hebrides

The name given to the inner islands off the west coast of Scotland, divided between Highland and Argyll and Bute Council Areas. The chief islands are Skye, Mull, Islay, Jura, Raasay, Canna, Rum, Eigg, Muck, Coll, Tiree, Iona, Colonsay, and Gigha. They are separated from the Outer Hebrides by the Sea of the Hebrides, the Little Minch and The Minch.
