Arnot Reservoir

The most southwesterly of a group of reservoirs lying to the south of the Lomond Hills, Arnot Reservoir is situated 1¼ miles (2 km) east northeast of Scotlandwell in E Perth and Kinross, close to the border with Fife, which is the location of the other reservoirs in the scheme. It opened in 1901 on the course of the Arnot Burn as a compensation reservoir within a scheme which supplied water to Dysart and Kirkcaldy. It has an earth embankment dam and covers an area of 11.1 ha (27 acres).
