Stantling Craig Reservoir

A small reservoir on the course of the Caddon Water in the Scottish Borders, Stantling Craig Reservoir lies 2½ miles (4 km) northwest of Clovenfords and 4 miles (6.5 km) northwest of Galashiels, to which is supplies water. Extending to an area of 7.3 ha (18 acres), it opened in 1879 as a compensation reservoir and is retained by an earth embankment dam. It is now operated by Scottish Water.
