Dearg Abhainn

(River Dearg Abhainn)

A river in the NE of Argyll and Bute, Dearg Abhainn (occasionally the River Dearg Abhainn) rises as headstreams in the centre of the Benderloch district and flows north northwest through Glen Salach for 3½ miles (5.5 km) to reach Loch Creran at Barcaldine. The middle reaches of the river flows through a steep gorge within the Barcaldine Forest and spills over several waterfalls.
