The Duncow Burn rises on the edge of the Forest of Ae in NE Dumfries and Galloway and flows south southeast around the eastern margin of Dalswinton Wind Farm and Dalswinton Common, turning south southwest at Duncow to receive the Pennyland Burn and then fall into the River Nith 1¼ miles (2 km) west of Locharbriggs, having completed a course of 7½ miles (12 km).
