Whitespout Lane

A river in the S of East Ayrshire, which represents the outflow of Loch Riecawr reservoir in South Ayrshire, the Whitespout Lane forms at the bottom of its dam wall, on the border between the Council Areas. It flows east through the Carrick Forest for 2¼ miles (3.7 km) to merge with the Eglin Lane and form the Carrick Lane. Along its course at the little Loch Gower, the Whitespout Linn waterfall and several small riverine islands.
