A substantial public housing estate which forms a residential district (or precinct) of Glenrothes in Fife, Caskieberran lies a mile (1.7 km) west southwest of the town centre, to the south of Tanshall. Its takes its name from a small fermtoun which once lay in the extreme southeast of the area, while its street names are inspired by the novels of Sir Walter Scott (Abbotsford, Ashton, Evandale, Ivanhoe, Kenilworth, Marmion, Waverley and Ravenswood). With housing comprising a propensity of maisonette blocks, the population of Caskieberran was 2625 in 1994. Caskieberran Primary School opened in 1969 towards the east of the district.
