AshtonA principally-residential district of Gourock (Inverclyde), Ashton lies to the west of the town centre and extends along the West Bay, occupying a narrow strip of land between the River Clyde and the steep hills to the south. The area was laid out in the 19th century and the housing mostly comprises large villas.
