A small stream of S Aberdeenshire, the Balmaleedy (or Balmaleedie) Burn rises on the northern slopes of the Hill of Balmaleedy and flows southwest for 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the southern edge of the village of Marykirk, before turning southeast for a further half-mile (1 km) before entering the River North Esk opposite Craigo.
