Hill of Ythsie

A hill in the Formartine district of Central Aberdeenshire, the Hill of Ythsie rises to 119m (390 feet) 1¼ miles (2 km) east of Tarves. A monument close to the summit, known as the Prop of Ythsie, was built in 1862 as a memorial to George Hamilton-Gordon (1784 - 1860), a British Prime Minister and the 4th Earl of Aberdeen.
