A mountain in the Central Grampians, Carn Liath rises to 818m (2683 feet) to the south of the River Dee 7 miles (11 km) west southwest of Braemar. Another Carn Liath lies 10 miles (16 km) to the northeast. The name derives from Gaelic, meaning 'grey hill'.
